Unwanted Hair Loss

Although there are a number of conditions that can cause hair loss, the most common are male pattern baldness (MPB) and female pattern baldness (FPB).

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB)

MPB, also known as androgenic alopecia, is a genetic condition that is inherited in families. The condition is caused by Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of Testosterone, which attaches to hair follicles and causes them to shrink and stop producing hair. You may notice that more hair is falling, thinning hair or a receding hairline. The success of stopping hair loss and promoting hair growth depends on a number of factors including general health, age at which hair loss started, rate of loss and how soon treatment is started. The more hair that is lost, the less chance you have of making a full recovery. As such, we advise that you seek specialist advice as soon as you notice more hair shedding.

Female Pattern Baldness (FPB)

FPB, also known as androgenic alopecia, is a genetic condition that causes thinning of the hair. It typically effects the top of the head and crown. You may notice that more hair is falling, thinning hair, receding hairline or a wider parting.

Treatment Options

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is the injection of your own blood plasma, that is rich in platelets and fortified with vitamins and nutrients, into the skin. The injection of PRP improves scalp microcirculation, reduces hair loss and promotes hair growth. PRP can be combined with other ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids for more powerful results.

Exosomes are a topical gel applied to scalp following radiofrequency microneedling. The gel is made from billions of exosomes, micro-vesicles that contain thousands of growth factors, cytokines and nutrients that can stimulate hair growth by:

Stimulation of Hair Follicle Cells: Exosomes contain growth factors that can promote the proliferation and survival of hair follicle cells.

-Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Inflammation in the scalp can contribute to hair loss and inhibit hair growth. Exosomes have been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help create a healthier environment for hair follicles to grow and thrive.

-Modulation of Hair Cycle: The hair growth cycle consists of growth (anagen), regression (catagen), and resting (telogen) phases. Exosomes may influence the hair cycle by promoting the transition of hair follicles from the resting phase to the growth phase, thus increasing the number of actively growing hairs

Polynucleotides are the building blocks of DNA and RNA. As polynucleotides are broken down in our body, they promote DNA synthesis, increase cell regeneration and cellular repair as well as increase blood flow and nutrient supply. Other benefits include having anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties and boosting collagen and hyaluronic acid production. Collectively, these benefits lead to healthier hair follicles and improved hair growth.
