Hyperpigmentation on the body can be genetic or related to hormones (e.g. after pregnancy) and trauma (e.g. after acne, cuts or burns) but is treatable with body peels for pigmentation at our London clinic. Areas like the neck, underarms, genitalia, arms and legs can be improved with skin-brightening body peels.

Following a thorough consultation, your practitioner will recommend a tailored pigmentation treatment programme. This may include topical skincare, peels, laser skin resurfacing, microneedling and PRP

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A BODY PEEL?

Fruit and other natural acids can be used to blend pigmentation, improve skin texture, and promote regeneration. Body peel treatment involves a non-toxic chemical (usually from fruit acids) applied to the skin to naturally exfoliate and remove pigmentation. Peels range from mild and refreshing to more intense and resurfacing. We also offer a full range of Dr Tatiana’s own blend of chemical peels. Dr Tatiana has combined natural acids with anti-inflammatory ingredients to achieve optimal results.

Chemical peels for discolouration are a safe and effective treatment for pigmentation. The treatment is suitable for all skin types.

Patch-testing is not generally required for chemical peels for hyperpigmenation . If you have specific allergies or skin concerns, it is important to discuss these with the therapist at your first consultation.

For optimal results, most patients will require 1-6 sessions (approximately 1 session every 4 weeks). A skincare plan will need to be followed for 4-6 months.

The results of a chemical peel for hyperpigmentation are long-term. However, over time, concerns such as pigmentation may return so you may benefit from a maintenance skincare programme and potentially having treatment again in the future.

Body chemical peel treatment options are not painful. Most people will feel mild or moderate heat and stinging during the treatment.

There is some redness, sensitivity and peeling of the skin. Peeling usually starts 2 days after treatment and continues for a total of 7-10 days. Most people can continue with normal work and social activities.

Body treatments are carried out by our experienced therapists.

We recommend that you pause any treatments like retinol, tretinoin, salicylic acid or glycolic for 5 days on the treatment area prior to the treatment. We recommend that you do not tan for at least 4 weeks prior to and for at least 6 weeks after this treatment. We also suggest bringing loose, comfortable clothing to wear after the treatment.
