Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), an injectable that is clinically proven to stimulate collagen production to lift, firm and plump the skin. Sculptra works to effectively treat facial volume loss, deep wrinkles, laxity, scars and cellulite. It is a highly researched treatment with over 10,000 patients studied across 50+ publications. When used to treat cellulite, Sculptra is delivered via a cannula which breaks down fibrous bands. The Sculptra then stimulates collagen production evening out dimples in the skin.

How to prepare?

At Drs Tatiana + Rishi Advanced Aesthetics, we ensure that only highly trained doctors or surgeons carry out Sculptra treatments, so you can be sure that you are getting the highest possible standard of care. When considering Sculptra, we recommend that you start by booking in a consultation with the doctor. During the consultation we will assess the area of concern, answer any of your questions, show you examples of our work and develop an effective treatment plan for you.

On the day of treatment your doctor will confirm the treatment plan, take you through the consent process and take some pre-treatment photographs. The skin will be cleaned and numbing cream may be applied. The doctor will then start the treatment. The process of Sculptra injections takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated. After treatment, the doctor will massage the treated areas and show you the results. We will also discuss how best to look after the area that has been treated. The receptionist will then offer you a review appointment and send you an email confirming the aftercare instructions.

Sculptra can be used for the face, neck, decolletage and many other parts of the body including the hands and buttocks.

Sculptra is a highly researched treatment with over 10,000 patients studied across 50+ publications. It has been found to be effective to improve facial laxity, volume loss, scars and cellulite.

Dependant on the individual and areas of concern.

Most people will see some improvement 1 month after treatment and optimal results at around 3 months after treatment

The results last for several years. However, this will depend on lifestyle factors such as smoking and sun exposure.

Sculptra is very well tolerated with minimal pain

As with any injection, it is possible that you may experience some redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising. These may take a 2-3 days to resolve and bruises sometimes longer. We advise that you don’t plan treatments around important commitments and allow at least 2 weeks between treatment and an important social or work event.

Our injectable treatments are performed by fully trained and experienced doctors and surgeons. You can rest assured that you are getting the highest standard of care by every member of our team.

We recommend that you avoid taking blood thinning tablets such as aspirin or ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your doctor) for 3 days prior to treatment. We also advise avoiding alcohol intake for 24 hours prior to treatment. It is also important that you are available for follow-up after treatment, so we recommend not to book injectable treatment if you are travelling in the next two weeks.
