What to expect from CO2 laser resurfacing treatment
The consultation
Your first step is to have an initial consultation at our clinic in central London. This will enable our doctor to assess your skin condition and discuss your skin concerns.
The consultation also allows us to do a patch test and try the laser out to ensure you are suitable for treatment. If you are suitable, the patch test will also ensure we can tailor the laser settings to your skin type and to help you achieve optimal results.
Your CO2 laser treatment
On the day of your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we will review the procedure with you again and take photos of your skin to document the before and after results.
We then start by cleansing the skin to prepare it for the laser. We will also apply a topical numbing cream to help make the treatment more comfortable for you.
The treatment can take around 60-90 minutes to complete. This includes allowing time for the numbing cream to work and for our doctors to treat your areas of concern.
Healing process
Straight after your laser treatment, your skin will look red and feel hot. The feeling is similar to having sunburn. You may also develop some brown crusts on the skin. This is completely normal and will start to go away in the 5-10 days following your treatment.
