What is CO2 fractional laser treatment?
Fractional laser resurfacing is an established laser treatment that uses laser to remove damaged skin cells and start the skin’s healing process.
This treatment targets small columns of your skin to promote skin regeneration, improve skin texture and kick-start collagen production. As a result, you will have skin that looks more plump and firm.
At Doctors Tatiana + Rishi Advanced Aesthetics, we use advanced CO2 laser systems that we can customise to your skin type. We can also tailor our lasers to provide both ablative and non-ablative fractional laser treatments. This will be based on your skin needs and desired results.
We use ablative laser treatments (e.g. erbium YAG laser and CO2 laser) for more intense skin resurfacing. For more superficial skin concerns such as for smoother and fresher skin, we often use non-ablative laser treatments (e.g. erbium glass laser).
We can treat most skin types. Darker skin types may be suitable, but we will need to perform a patch test first.

We will thoroughly cleanse your skin before treatment, so that it is ready for the laser. Most patients find CO2 laser treatment to be tolerable, but to make you more comfortable we will use a numbing cream first.
You can expect your laser resurfacing treatment session to last around 60 minutes. This gives the numbing cream time to work and our doctor time to fully treat your skin concerns.
After fractional laser resurfacing treatment
The good news is that you typically only need one session of CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment.
You can experience some redness, crusting, swelling and sensitivity in the treatment area. This is completely normal with ablative laser treatments.
You can normally return to work after five days and the rest of your normal activities in a week. We may recommend a longer recovery period for more intensive treatments such as for deep acne scars
How long will my laser results last in London?
The results from your laser treatment will be permanent. However, as your skin ages or with some exposure and lifestyle choices, your skin condition can change.
If you start to see new lines and wrinkles forming, or pigmentation issues, you may benefit from another session of laser skin resurfacing.
