What is XERF™?
XERF is the next evolution in non-surgical skin tightening and lifting. It addresses two of the fundamental drivers of facial ageing: tissue laxity and the gradual descent of facial fat. By working from the skin all the way down to the SMAS, the same support layer targeted during a deep plane facelift, XERF tightens and contracts the tissues of the face and neck and helps restore facial fat to a more youthful position, creating a naturally lifted appearance. Using monopolar radiofrequency energy, XERF delivers immediate collagen contraction and stimulates progressive remodelling of collagen, elastin and the extracellular matrix over the following months, with optimal results typically seen at six months. Treatments are comfortable, require no needles or numbing cream, and involve no downtime.
Uniquely, XERF targets deeper tissues, including the SMAS, whilst preserving the underlying fat layer through precise temperature control, maintaining natural facial contours and volume.
How does it work?
XERF uses dual-frequency monopolar radiofrequency energy (6.78 MHz and 2 MHz) to deliver controlled heating at multiple depths, from the skin to the deeper support structures of the face and neck.
This controlled heating:

- Stimulates new collagen and elastin production.

All the patients at our London clinic are invited for a consultation appointment prior to XERF treatment. During your consultation, the doctor will assess your concerns and the areas for potential treatment. There may be a number of suitable treatment options and the practitioner will discuss these with you in detail. You will be sent information about each treatment via email.
If you choose to go ahead with XERF: on the day of treatment you will be seen by the practitioner who will take you through the consent process, answer any other questions you may have, take before-treatment pictures.
Once the skin is fully anaesthetised, the treatment will begin. Normally patients will feel some sensation of warmth or prickling during treatment but this is very tolerable.
After treatment, the skin will be cleaned again and a soothing barrier lotion is applied.
You will be given aftercare lotions to use and a date will be set for follow-up.
Following treatment, the skin often looks pink and slightly puffy.
There’s minimal downtime from this procedure, but if you are planning on going out or back to work after treatment, we can apply a healing foundation for you to help minimise the appearance of redness.
A session usually takes 60-90 minutes, although the time can vary depending on the treatment areas. 1-2 session is sufficient.
XERF can be used treat the face, neck and a range of body areas. With different depth settings and intensity levels, treatment is tailored to each area and to your individual skin profile.
XERF is appropriate for all skin types and can be tailored to each patient's unique anatomy. During your consultation we will assess your skin and goals to confirm whether XERF is the right treatment for you.
This depends on your individual skin condition and goals. Usually one or two sessions is sufficient.
You will immediately experience a degree of tightening, which will improve over the next 6 months.
The results last for several years. However, this will depend on lifestyle factors such as smoking and sun exposure.
XERF has been carefully designed with comfort in mind. The treatment feels warm and comfortable, thanks to Integrated Cryogen Delivery (ICD) that monitors the temperature of your skin, and the Wave Fit™ pulse, which balances energy delivery with cooling. Unlike other treatments, there are no needles and no numbing required.
XERF is a comfortable, safe and effective procedure. You may notice mild warmth and redness in the treated area, which settles very quickly.

No special preparation or numbing is required. Arrive with clean skin, free of make-up and skincare products on the treatment area.
